Why don't you make backups?
Solene raised this question in Qubes Forum, and it is a great question.
There's a quote from Confucius that I believe it solves the question:
yq '.authors
| filter(.name == "Confucius").[0].quotes
| filter(.content
| contains("By three methods we may learn wisdom")).[0].content' ../../data/quotes/all.yaml
By three methods we may learn wisdom: - First, by reflection, which is noblest; - Second, by imitation, which is easiest; - And third by experience, which is the bitterest.
How make users care? They need awareness, to understand that losing data is a reality. Either by imagination or by experience. But second is hurtful.
Backup your important data.
