It seems that USB cables have processors

Procrastinating in this HackerNews thread I just learned that USB cables are a potential threat.

It makes me realize I know nothing about the tech I use daily. What a shame.

TL;DR;

My apple thunderbolt 4 cable has a computer more powerful than my first computer in it (ARM Cortex M0 core running at up to 48 MHz vs a 286 at 25mhz)
